Indian Barber Styles Hair with Candle烛焰理发
An Indian barber has become famous for using a candle instead of scissors to trim his customers' hair.
Aqueel Kiratpuri, 44, whose salon is in Lokhandwala, Bombay, burns the hair with the candle flame. He says the 'candle cut' is an old tradition which has lost out to scissors over the years, reports Asian Age.
He said: "My forefathers started this practice and our family has been using candle flame to style hair. We only need a five-metre long wick and a comb to style hair. "Scissors create a mess with hair all over, this style avoids that as the hair simply burns."
It takes about an hour for him to style a customer's hair. Mr Kiratpuri's salon is reportedly popular with Bollywood and television stars and young people.
