网易教育讯 据美国侨报网编译报道,一份最新报告显示,在化学、医学和物理学领域的美国诺贝尔奖得主有超过三分之一是移民。
据路透社报道,美国政策国家基金会(NFAP)周四发布的这份报告称,自2000年以来在化学、医学和物理学领域获得诺贝尔奖的美国人有68人,其中24人为移民。
NFAP希望这一研究能证明移民在重要领域做出的杰出贡献,能进一步推动在国会依然陷入僵局的移民改革。
去年,美国参议院通过了一项移民法案,但众议院对于该法案的争议一直停留在如何处理超过1100万的美国非法居民,许多共和党人希望等到11月中期选举后再重新考虑这个问题。
移民改革的反对者称,大量移民压低了工资,窃取了美国人的工作机会,而为无合法身份的人提供就业可能会进一步刺激非法移民的涌入。
该报告称,移民立法可追溯到1965年,当时取消了亚洲移民到美国的配额,随后1995年立法增加了移民就业机会,这些都使得美国诺贝尔奖得主呈现飙升。
在1960年之前,美国移民诺贝尔奖得主为化学1名、医学9名和物理15名。但1960年以来这一人数飙升至化学23名、医学28名和物理学21名。
